Mr. Harold Freeman

Harold was born in Oconee County, South Carolina on September 12, 1939 to the late Raymond and Bessie Moore Freeman. He was a kind, sweet, and compassionate man who would help anyone in need. As a child, he enjoyed fishing with his brothers and that continued into his adulthood when he would share those experiences with his grandchildren. Harold enjoyed going to jockey lots, where he would search for antique collectables. He liked gardening, especially vegetables, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers during football and baseball season. Harold was a devout Christian and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and would never miss an opportunity to tell others about how Jesus changed his life. Above all else, he loved his family and spending time with them.

Harold is survived by one daughter: Donna Cantrell; two granddaughters: Kelly Long (William) and Mandy Barriger; two great-grandchildren: Hunter Long and Faith Long; and five siblings: Wayne Freeman, Evelyn Nelson, Patsy Austin, Judy Boggs, and Joan Grant.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years: Dorothy Freeman; and five siblings: Sara Fincannon, Carl Freeman, William "Bub" Freeman, Roy Freeman, and Bobby Joe Freeman.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
