Mr. Davis was born in Pickens County on April 4, 1939 to the late Ernest Grover and Helen Barton Davis. He graduated from Carolina High School and went on to work and travel the world with the Fluor Daniel Corporation. Mr. Davis then went on to become a Master Carpenter and enjoyed working for himself throughout his later years. Upon retirement, you could find him at the local Waffle House or McDonalds for his "morning meetings" with all of his friends to solve the world's problems. He was one of the most generous men you would ever meet and everyone who met him, loved him. Mr. Davis always had a happy demeanor and could truly make the best out of any situation. He was a car enthusiast, of the Baptist Faith, and most of all, he deeply loved his family.
Mr. Davis is survived by a son: Harold E. "Gene" Davis, Jr. of Greenville; a daughter: Stephanie Renee Murphy (Don) of Easley; a sister: Millie Molner of Michigan; five grandchildren: Caroline Hensley, Jarrod Smith, Steven Smith, Joshua E. Davis (Heather), and Allison Bridges (Wesley); and six great-grandchildren: Tori, Adrianna, Dylan, Alston, Griffin, and Addy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Stinson and Ernestine Lockaby.
