Mr. Grover Mathis Jr.

Grover was born November 15, 1937, in Pickens County, South Carolina, son of the late Grover M. Mathis Sr., and Bernice Dodgens Mathis. Grover was retired from Saco-Lowell in Easley and was the loving husband of 63 years to Annie R. Mathis. He loved his old western movies. He loved his family, especially his grandbabies. Grover was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is one daughter, Susan Bright, two sons, Michael Mathis, and Timothy Mathis. He also leaves behind one brother, James William Mathis, one sister Patricia Sutherland and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Grover is preceded in death by his wife Annie and son Daniel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday night, August 12, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Dillard Funeral Home 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway Pickens, South Carolina 29671.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don McQueen officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Susan Bright.
