Georgia Boggs Barnett

Georgia was born May 12, 1942 in Piedmont, SC. She was the daughter of the late Walter “Bud” Boggs and Bessie Mae Jones Boggs. She was a 1960 graduate of Piedmont High School. She was retired from Filtration Group in York after 21 years. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where she was active in WOM, Red Hat Society, and Awanas until she was no longer able to attend. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and sister-in-laws who were dubbed the “fearsome foursome”. She was the “world’s best mom” but her greatest joy in life was being a Nana.

Georgia is survived by her children Michelle Dunann (Steve) of Greenville, and Ashley Huffstetler (Jason) of Rock Hill, 4 grandchildren; Jacob Richardson, Katelyn Huffstetler, Emily Huffstetler, and Caroline Huffstetler, as well as her stepdaughters, step-grandchildren, and many other extended family and friends that she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers; Jack Boggs and Donald Boggs, and an infant son.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home located at 2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
