Pickens, SC – Mr. Fred Lee Galloway, Sr., age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 1, 2021. Mr. Galloway was born in Oconee County, South Carolina and was the son of the late James Flemon Galloway and Bessie Nichols Galloway and husband to Elizabeth McCollum.
Along with his wife Elizabeth McCollum, survivors include a daughter Angela Kelley (Donald) from Easley, South Carolina and a son Freddie L. Galloway, Jr. from Pickens, South Carolina. Surviving are four loving and precious grandchildren: Ashley Goss (Frankie) from Six Mile, South Carolina, Darlene Raines from Six Mile, South Carolina, Kerry Hamilton from Easley, South Carolina and Heather Hamilton from Easley, South Carolina along with 14 most precious and loving great-grandchildren. He is survived by a brother Ted Galloway (Betty) from Salem, South Carolina and two sisters: Elizabeth Bearden from Easley, South Carolina and Sue Simmons from Georgia.
Mr. Galloway was predeceased by brothers L. D., John, Harold, Sam, Bill and Vernon Galloway and a sister Rhoda Galloway.
Mr. Galloway was a twenty plus year veteran of the United States Army having served two terms in Vietnam. He loved his family and was a great man to them. He enjoyed bowling, fishing for anything that would bite and Carolina Football. He will be greatly missed by his family having been taken from them way too soon.
A visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671 on Wednesday starting at 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM with a chapel service to follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park following the service.
