She loved her family, her garden, and watching the birds. Her favorite place to be was surrounded by the people she loved most or outside tending her garden. She served as a pastor's wife for 38 years, pastoring many congregations in North and South Carolina. She will be remembered for her servant's heart serving many of her family and friends along the way and her endless dedication to Jesus Christ.
Emma Lee was predeceased by both parents, Claude and Joycie Merck; two brothers, CF Merck and Milas Merck; two sisters, Leotta Grace Merck and Karen Adams; a grandson, Duncan Chavis and a great grandchild, Baby Willis.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Bobby Duncan; a son, Eddie Duncan (Mischelle) of Walhalla, SC; a daughter, Denise Chavis (Ronald) of Pelzer, SC; three granddaughters, Laura Willis (Justin), Leah Duncan, and Moriah Baldwin (Chandler); a grandson, Bryson Chavis; one great granddaughter, Raelynn Willis; three brothers, Gary Merck (Vonda) of Easley, SC, Melvin Merck of Easley, SC, and Johnny Merck (Joanne) of Six-Mile, SC; and a sister, Marlene Harrison of Six-Mile, SC.
Services will be held on Friday, March 29 at Gap Hill Church of God in Six-Mile, SC at 2:00 PM, with a visitation prior at 12:30 pm, and a graveside will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
