Born in Anderson, South Carolina on October 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Thompson Bridges and Mildred Finch Bridges.
After attending beauty school in Atlanta, Ellie earned her certification as a skilled hairstylist, setting the foundation for her career in the beauty industry. She owned her own salon where she built her clientele over the years. Ellie wanted to share her love and knowledge for hairdressing, so she went on to teach at a cosmetology school. Later in life, Ellie decided to pursue her real estate and broker licenses, opening Four Points Real Estate. Ellie enjoyed visiting thrift stores, estate sales, and spending time with her beloved dogs. Above all, her greatest joy came from taking care of her boys and cherishing precious moments with her family.
Ellie is survived by her sons: Emmette Mote, Mike Mote (April), Scott Mote, Marty Mote, and Todd Mote. She is also survived by her dear sister, Sandy Ramey; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Luther Bridges; sister, Linda Hollingsworth; and her infant brother, Jerry Lee Bridges.
A graveside service for Ellie will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC.
