Liberty, SC – Mrs. Edna Belle Ellenburg Aiken, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2021. Mrs. Aiken was born in Pickens County, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Cless Ellenburg and Lake Roper Ellenburg and wife to the late Leroy Aiken.
Survivors include a son Melvin Aiken (Barbara) of Easley, South Carolina and a brother William “Bud” Ellenburg of Liberty, South Carolina and daughter in laws Dianne Aiken and Pam Aiken both from Liberty, South Carolina. Also surviving are eight precious grandchildren, eighteen most precious great grandchildren and five most precious and loving great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Aiken was predeceased by two sons Larry and Dale Aiken, and a brother David Ellenburg.
Mrs. Aiken loved working in her flowers. Her favorite time was pulling weeds from her flower beds. She was close to 90 years of age before she quit cutting grass. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and she loved attending. She love crocheting and was happy to cook for everyone. Her beloved dishes was poor man’s casserole and sweet potato pie. When asked: What is your secret to old age?” her answer was that, “All that she has known is hard work!”
A graveside service will be held on Sunday August 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park 2410 Gentry Memorial Highway Pickens, South Carolina 29671.
The family asks in concern for your safety that you wear your mask during the service.
