Charles Kenneth Barkley

Six Mile – Charles Kenneth “Ken” Barkley, 75, husband of Geraldine Joyce Brucke Barkley, passed from this life on Thursday April 6, 2017 at his home. Mr. Barkley was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Hovie and Bessie Nix Barkley. He was retired from Schlafhorst in Charlotte, NC and worked throughout the United States and Canada supervising crews installing textile machinery. He attended the Church of God and was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Joyce Brucke Barkley of the home, a son Charles Allen Barkley (Sharon Payne) of Six Mile, grandchildren, Amanda, Jason, Kenneth, Shana, Robert, and Rondal and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Linda Fink (Dewayne) of Gilbert, SC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Holder, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM with funeral service following at 2:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with The Reverend Jason Grant, The Reverend Neal Hendrix, and The Reverend Doug Saylors officiating.
