Savior, Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Born in Liberty, South Carolina, on February 17, 1942, Carlton was the son of the late James
Edward Alexander and Lois Holiday Alexander. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Alexander,
and his sisters, Bertha Turner, Wanda Heaton (Robert), Carolyn Perkins, and Mary Young. He
is preceded by his brothers, Ray Alexander and Lloyd Alexander, and his sister June Gill.
Carlton was married to the late Janet Dalton Alexander (2016) for a glorious 54 years. They are
survived by their three children, Carlton Alexander Jr., Susan Smith (Kevin), and Jennifer White
(Patrick). They had 11 grandchildren who filled their lives with laughter and joy, as well as
14 great grandchildren.
Carlton was beloved by everyone who knew him. He was always eager to lend a helping hand
to anyone in need. He, along with his wife, were members of Geer Memorial Baptist Church for
38 years, where he served on the bus ministry, and as a deacon. Carlton accepted Christ
as his Lord and Savior in 1983. Since that time, he had a strong faith and shared it with
everyone.
In his spare time, he was an avid deer hunter, and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with
his friends and family. He loved spending time with his family, watching westerns and football,
and collecting old coins.
Today we are sad that we have lost a wonderful Daddy and Grandpa, but we rejoice in
knowing that he was welcomed into heaven. He is rejoicing with his wife and those who
have gone on before him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 12:15 p.m. The committal service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
