Betty "Nanny" Dodson Mathews

Betty was devoted to her family. Being Nanny made her the most happy. After a career at Vaughn Russell as a candy dipper, Betty took care of her mother for several years. She enjoyed bird watching and working crossword puzzles and her favorite color was pink.

Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Workman, her father and mother, Henry and Ruth Dodson and brother Rudy.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herschel "Bill" Mathews, daughter Pam Meyer (Paul), four grandchildren, Haley Workman, Lacey Workman, Mathew Meyer and Leslie Meyer. Two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Workman and Zayden Gaddy. One brother, Gary Dodson (Carol) and one sister, Norma Brown (Louis).

The family would like to give a special thank you to Andris Torres and Carolyn Goldsmith for their loving care.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 25, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, SC.
