Betty Jo Chapman

Mrs. Chapman was born in Oconee County on September 6, 1931 to the late Preston and Ruth Lindsey Gibson. Affectionately known as "Granny" to everyone, she was a woman who never met a stranger and loved everyone she met. Most importantly, she loved God and served Him daily. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all of her family. She was a member of Elljean Baptist Church.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by her two children: Susan Crenshaw (Donald) of Pickens and Larry Chapman (Julie) of Pickens; six grandchildren: Denise, Tim, Travis, Stephanie, Cassie, and Lucas; a "bonus" grandson: Brian; and two sisters: Dorothy Adams of Seneca and Myremb Durham of Six Mile. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her loving husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Mark, Ray, Clyde, Milton, and Henry; two sisters: Lucy Grant and Mae Chapman; and a great-granddaughter: Lily Powell.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Sunday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.

The family is at their respective homes.
