Barry Phillips

Mr. Phillips was born in Greenville County on June 11, 1956 to the late Clyde James and Gladys Miller Phillips. Barry worked for Ryobi as a tow motor operator, and in his free time you could always find him in the outdoors. He loved fishing, gardening, shopping at the local thrift stores, and singing karaoke. Barry was a man who even though he had a hard head, he was loving and caring. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife of 23 years, Barry is survived by his two daughters: Melissa Phillips (Chris Gorham) of Clemson and Sarah Phillips Marlow (Sean) of Pickens; an adopted daughter: Gracey Merck of the residence; three step-children: Nathan Roper (Melissa) of Pickens, Kayla Merck of Central, and Brandon Roper of Easley; and four grandchildren: C.J. Gorham, Ithan Roper, Nevaeh Phillips, and Savannah Moon. Barry also leaves behind a granddaughter-in-law: Katelyn Mansell of Liberty; a great-grandchild: Kaiden McKeithan; five siblings: Delores Chasteen (Larry) of Pickens, Gordon Phillips of Pickens, Becky Waters of Liberty, Greg Phillips (Joyce) of Easley, and Joe Phillips (Lisa Bryant) of Pickens; and a brother-in-law: Marion Breazeale of Pickens.

In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by a grandson: DeAndre Mansell; four siblings: Anthony Steven Phillips, Maxine Breazeale, Kenneth Phillips, and Vickie Ann Phillips; and a brother-in-law: Chuck Waters.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Thursday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
