Mr. Alfred Eugene Hughes

  Alfred Eugene (Gene) Hughes Pendleton, South Carolina   Alfred Eugene (Gene) Hughes, age 85, resident of Magnolia Manor of Greenville, SC, formerly of Pendleton, SC, passed away Friday May 16, 2014. Mr. Hughes was born in McCall, SC, May 21, 1928. He was a son of the late Emory Vance Hughes and Retha Dorendo Gause Hughes.   Mr. Hughes was employed by Milliken Co. for many years and later retired from Anderson Textiles. He loved old cars, working on his tractor, and spending time at the beach with his family.   He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbie Lee Moody Hughes, also a resident of Magnolia Manor of Greenville, SC, formerly of Pendleton, SC, two daughters, Anita Hughes Bratcher, and husband Tommy of Belton, SC, Tammy Hughes Lognion, and husband Dwayne of Pendleton,SC, and one granddaughter, Shelly Bratcher Barrow and husband Jeremiah of Charleston,SC.   Mr. Hughes was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Earl Hughes.   Visitation will be Monday May 19, 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Dillard Funeral Home with a Graveside service to follow at 2:00pm in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.   The family will be at the home of Anita Bratcher in Belton, SC.   Dillard Funeral Home, Pickens SC,  is assisting the Hughes family.
