Violet G Gibbs

She was born June 15, 1921 at Hiles Township, Wisconsin to Bertie and Della Way and was raised in South Central Iowa. She was the 3rd youngest of 12 children and preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers, sisters and her husband. She graduated from Allerton High School and later married Rex Gibbs, her high school sweetheart in 1942. She worked at the Munitions Plant in Ankeny, Iowa making 50 caliber ammunition while he served overseas in the Army during World War II. After the war they lived in Allerton Iowa until 1948 when the family moved to Phoenix. She is survived by her sons Jerry Gibbs ( Catherine) and Phil Gibbs, three grandchildren Bob Gibbs(Melissa), Scott Gibbs(Dawn) and Jill McDaniel(Bill), six great grandchildren and one great great grandson as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be deeply and surely missed.

Visitation starts at 9am and Funeral Services following at 10am on Wednesday Sept 27, 2017 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary 719 N 27th Ave., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are welcome to Hospice Of The Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656
