Vincent V. Ortiz, 95, of Phoenix, Arizona, was a WWII Navy Veteran and an American Legion member. He passed away peacefully on 31 July, 2018. He was born in El Paso, Texas to Simona Marquez and Delfino Ortiz. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Eloise C. Ortiz, who passed away on 14 July 2017; also, by his brother, Cruz Ortiz. He is survived by his children: Vincent Ortiz Jr., Mary Griffin, Rachelle Kitchell, Frances Cano, Alice Plaxco, Ernest Ortiz, Josephine Contreras and Mary Ann Clapper; his brother, Frank Ortiz and two sisters: Alice Saenz and Hilda Olivas; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren. Vincent and Eloise enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and Europe. He was warm-hearted, patient and kind. Vincent had a generous, loving heart who loved the outdoors. He had the true heart of a cowboy. He will never be forgotten, for our memories will forever be in our hearts. A Celebraion of Life will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix, AZ. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart Church, 909 E. Washington, Phoenix, AZ. Burial at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ.
