Vernon G. Sutton, 88 of Glendale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, & friend, passed away Oct.4, 2011. He was born in Bartlesville, OK on 11/23/1922. Vern was preceded in death by his father Judge Samuel T. Sutton, mother Dollie Sutton and his brother Jack. He served in the U.S.Army and met his love, Anna, at a skating rink in Springfield, MO and married 66 years ago, April 1945. They moved to AZ in 1947 where he worked for the U.S.Bureau of Reclamation till he retired. He is survived by his wife, Anna, daughters, Linda Koehlmoos, Beverly Harmon, Connie Stevens, Pamela Steiner, Verna Sutton, son, Chris Sutton and his niece, Anne Rather. They have 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great, great-grandchildren. He loved his family and loved to play the violin in church and even wrote songs, one of them titled “Anna’s Hands” which he sang and played for his wife at their wedding anniversary. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 9 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. at Greenwood /Memory Lawn Mortuary 719 North 27th Ave Phoenix, AZ 85009. Interment to follow.
