Born in Dayton, Ohio on October 7, 1926 and moved to Phoenix in 1957 with his wife Mary, daughters Deborah and April, and sons Donald and Robert. Had final addition to the family, daughter Tina, in 1958. Vernon became a Firefighter for the Wilson Fire Department that serviced Sky Harbor Airport. After the Phoenix Fire Department annexed the airport, he was welcomed as a Phoenix Firefighter and retired after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving second wife of over 10 years, Charlene Rogers, 5 children, 4 step children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vernon was a powerful man of God. He was a talented woodworker, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, and most of all spending time with family.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by all.
