Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Terry Zamborsky Macdonald, passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2022, surrounded by her family at the age of 74 in Sun City, Arizona. Mom was welcomed to her heavenly home by our brother and her son, Seth, and many beloved family members. Mom was born on August 19, 1948, to Andrew Zamborsky and Louvinia Cotner Zamborsky in Redlands, California. She was blessed with an older sister, Tanya and a younger sister, Vicki.
Mom spent her childhood enjoying many happy memories with her sisters and the Sanborn cousins, who were all her lifelong friends. She attended Kingsbury Elementary, Cope Junior High and graduated from Redlands High School. Mom kept in touch with many of her high school friends and always held Redlands as a special place. It was there that several pivotal experiences occurred. Mom was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized in May of 1962 as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was in December 1965 that she started a lifelong relationship with Danny Macdonald. She attended San Bernardino Valley College and Brigham Young University while waiting for Danny to come home from his church mission. They were married for eternity on September 6, 1969, in the Los Angeles California Temple. Following a short time in Utah, they settled in Phoenix and surrounding cities for the next 53 years.
Mom and Dad welcomed five daughters and one son: Shelley, Seth, Sarah, Amy, Jill, and Emily. Family was most important to Mom and Dad, and we are grateful that our family is sealed together forever. Mom loved reading and worked as the librarian at Starlight Park Elementary for many years. Gardening, quilting, family history, and temple work were among her favorite activities. Her 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild were her and Dad’s pride and joy. She enjoyed going to baptisms, high school graduations, weddings, sports activities, and family reunions. Mom was a dedicated member of The Church and served faithfully in many capacities, including as a temple ordinance worker in the Phoenix temple. Mom had a great love for family history and served a mission with Dad in the Church History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mom fought a hard battle with breast cancer this year, and we are grateful for the loving care by the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute and Hospice of the Valley. Mom was preceded in death by her parents and her son Seth Alan Macdonald. She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel G. Macdonald of 53 years; daughters, Shelley Wilkes (Darren); Sarah Cook (David); Amy Phippen (Darin); Jill Mitchell; Emily Baker (Andrew); sisters, Tanya Henninger (Chuck); Vicki Kloeppel (Jim); 24 grandchildren: Mikayla (Dallin), Whitney, Jessica (Cory), Zachary (Mile), Kyle, Elizabeth, Savannah (Josh), Sadie, Christina, Read, Eli, Lucy, Hazel, Benjamin, Kate (Garrett), Sarah, Abby, Ellie, Grant (Sarah), Clark, Cora, Vaden, Aubrey, Cambria; 1 great-grandson, Carson, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Services for Mom will be on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Sun City Ward Building, 13014 N. 108th Ave, Sun City, Arizona, at 3 pm. A viewing will be held prior from 2:00 to 2:45 pm. She will be buried in the Mesa City Cemetery on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 am.
