Sybil Bates Anderson a native of Arizona entered into rest October 31, 2011 in Cottonwood. She was born on November 10, 1928 at home on Taylor Street in Phoenix to Palmer M. Simmons and Anna Haisten Simmons. She attended Isaac Elementary School and Phoenix Union High School. Sybil married Clay J. R. Bates July 13, 1946. They had 45 wonderful loving years together. They had three children: Linda (Ken) Martin of Nutrioso, AZ; John Bates of Farmington, NM and Tom (Pam) Bates of Tempe, AZ. After Clay’s death, Sybil married a long time family friend in 1996, William Anderson. During her youth she enjoyed jitterbugging at Willow Breeze and won some dance contest. She was a stay-at-home Mom raising her children. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, watching her soap opera, square dancing, genealogy and playing board and card games. She is survived by her husband, William Anderson; her three children; grandchildren: Marlayna (Clint) Munoz, Erica (Tom) Lango and Kory (Brittany) Bates; four great grandchildren; and her stepson, Jeff Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and Clay J. R. Bates. The family would like to send a special “thank you” to Verde Valley Community Hospice for their support and the loving care that they gave to our Mother and Stepfather. She was a wonderful, loving wife and mother and will be missed, “Until we meet again.”
Visitation 10:30-11am Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Resthaven Park Mortuary 4310 E Southern Ave Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Service at 11am followed by Interment at Resthaven Park Cemetery 4310 E Southern Ave Phx. AZ.
