Steven “Steve” Lee Stewart of Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona, passed away peacefully in the presence of his soulmate, Marsha, daughters, Becky, Kristina and Marci and son-in-law Joshua at 2:18 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Fred Stewart, mother, Betty Stewart, brother Jeff Stewart and his many beloved pets. He is survived by his soulmate, Marsha Stewart; brother, Ron Stewart; children, Becky and Sasha Osgood, Kristina and Joshua Medlin and Marci Stewart; grandchildren, Daisy and Nicholas Kee, Jenna and Joshua Roark, Calista Medlin, Nicoli Balassi, Matthew Medlin, Michael Osgood, Maggie Medlin, Lilly Osgood and Jaxon Wilburn; great-grandchildren, Luca Balassi and Scarlett Tennyson.
Steve was born on November 7, 1953, in Denver, Colorado and was the middle child of three. He spent most of his adult life and career running his family business, Paradise Valley Desert Rock from 1978 to 2009, which he inherited from his parents. Steve also pursued several other business ventures and was never afraid to learn new things and become the jack of many trades such as cooking, beauty and entrepreneurship. He dreamed of retiring to the mountains of Arizona and accomplished that dream five years before his passing. Steve was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. He loved to keep in contact with his many grandkids over social media and was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Steve was a devoted dog dad to his Chow, Kuda. He often lamented how much he loved Kuda and frequently showed his children and grandchildren pictures of them together. Before his passing, Steve was ecstatic to find out that he would welcome another great-granddaughter to his family in December, Violet.
Steve loved to hunt, fish and golf. He spent time swimming with all of his kids and grandkids on the weekends. His grandchildren often reminisce about playing mini-golf, pool and darts with him in the backyard by the pool growing up. He loved Harley motorcycles, Jack Daniels whiskey, the Charlie Daniels Band and a variety of other rock musicians. Most importantly, Steve loved his family. He was known to have a joke on hand and loved to put a smile on the face of his kids.
A celebration of life for Steve will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022, at noon at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Rd. Phoenix AZ 85022.
