Sharon “Sherry” Gail Beecher of Phoenix, Arizona passed away in the morning of April 9. 2025 after a valiant 10-year battle with Dementia, at the age of 68. Sharon was born in Watsonville, California on February 7th, 1957 to Laura and Norman Beecher. The first of three daughters, Sherry grew up in Southern California, moving on to complete her Bachelor of Science in biology degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and moving even further into her education to complete her Master of Science in Physical Education degree from California State University, Fresno. Sherry always had a love for sports, which began as a young girl when she and her father would watch and attend numerous sporting activities, with basketball being her favorite. After receiving her Master’s degree, she worked as an athletic trainer with varying schools and colleges, continuing her love of sports, and allowing her to help athletes perform to their fullest abilities.
Sherry had 4 children, who she loved more than life itself. Always destined to be a mother, Sharon’s love for her children translated to her completing her time as an athletic trainer, and moving on to becoming a substitute teacher in the school systems her children attended. This allowed her to be near her kids, and always present whenever her children were out of school. Sherry loved to attend field trips, chaperone school activities, and have fun in every way possible. An avid fan of Disney and theme parks, Sherry enjoyed the thrill of a day of fun, culminating in roller coaster rides, ice cream, and a little souvenir on every trip she adventured. Sharon was also a proud and devoted follower of Jesus, spending time as President of the Protestant Women of the Chapel chapter in Vilseck, Germany, coordinating VBS activities, and volunteering at every opportunity when it arose. Sherry believed that to be a servant of Christ, it was best to help serve others. As part of her time giving back, Sherry was a Blue Star Mom in Phoenix. She joined other Blue Star Moms monthly in creating and sending care packages to active duty service members overseas.
Sharon is survived by her 4 children, Jason (Brooke) Robinson of Temple, Texas; Jennifer (Noah) Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia; Jessica (Matthew) Stoering of Shakopee, Minnesota; and Julianne (Stephan) Zawadzki of Tampa, Florida. Her mother Laura Beecher, and Sisters Susan Shisler and Karen Moody of Phoenix, Arizona also survive her. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace, James David, Benjamin Scott, Ryan Edward, and Eloise Sharon. Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Norman Beecher, and her son, Joshua Robinson.
A service celebrating Sharon’s life will be hosted at Shadow Mountain Mortuary on Sunday, May 18th at 10 AM. A reception with the family will follow, being hosted by Susan and Robert Shisler.
