Sharon Anne (Grant) Harvey passed away December 28, 2018 at the Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center in Phoenix, AZ. Sharon was born July 23, 1934 in Kankakee IL to Roy Grant, Sr. and Lucille (Taylor) Grant. She graduated from Kankakee High School in 1952 and worked her first job at Edwards Jewelers until moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1969. Sharon then worked at the United Bank of Arizona as a book keeping machine operator, where she operated the first computer in the accounting department at the bank. She retired from the bank in 1985 ending her career in the leasing department. Sharon then decided that retirement was not for her and began a second career working in food service for the Paradise Valley Unified School district until retiring once again. Sharon is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack Harvey (Phoenix, AZ); daughters from a prior marriage, Patricia Hoss (Tucson, AZ) and Paula Lyngstad (Scottsdale, AZ); step-son Gary Harvey (Helper, UT); step-daughters Shelly Harvey (Stockton, CA), and Debra Land (Salt Lake City, UT); sisters-in-laws Marilyn Emling (Fresno, CA) and Darlene Bertrand (Bonfield, Il). Sharon leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Roy Sr. and Lucille, brother Roy Jr., sisters Sandra Larsen and Janet Miller, and brother-in-law Raymond Emling. Sharon was a breast cancer survivor of 24 years, an accomplished greeting card maker, baker, lover of puzzles and word games. She was a fan of the Phoenix Suns and enjoyed watching her team on the court. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center for their care of Sharon. Cremation rites have been afforded and Sharon’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Cross in the Desert United Methodist Church, 12835 N 32nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85032.
