Santos Swisher

Santos Swisher, 83, originally from Guadalajara,Jalisco entered Heaven in Phoenix, Arizona on March 23, 2025. Santos was born November 1, 1941, the fourth of seven children to Emelio Ramos and Guadalupe Torres.

Santos grew up in Jalisco where she went to school. She moved to Nogales in the early 60’s for a work position and that is where she met the love of her life, Marion "Jack" Swisher. Santos and Jack never had children together, but Jack had a son named Tom who is married to Kathy and quickly became Santos family.

When Santos and her husband relocated to the Phoenix area she took a position with the Roosevelt School District as a Bus Attendant. Her duties were providing the safety of children and supporting the drivers in their everyday duties. She retired with almost 30 years. Santos loved many things but her top 4 were family, church and traveling. The easiest way to describe her travel is to ask “where hasn’t she been?”. She has traveled all though Europe, she loved visiting Las Vegas, and one of her favorite trips was to Rome. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She never missed a get-together or party or any chance to be spend time with them. And she always remained faithful as a Catholic where she was a Guadalupana for many years.

She was a very nice and mellow person. She was described as so mellow that she was a “battery running low.” She was happy when the week-end came so she could go out and see what she could find at yard sales. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her plants and dogs. She liked watching Novelas, nature channel on TV . Her favorite color was red and flower pattens every were at home.

Santos leaves behind her brother Jose, sister Justina and many other close relatives and friends.

She was greeted in Heaven by her mother and father Emelio and Guadalupe; her husband Jack; siblings Gregorio, Serafino, Elvira and Ezequiel.

She will be remembered for her beautiful spirt and soul. She was always supportive of her family.

She will be remembered forever.

A Funeral Mass for Santos will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 6200 S Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042.
