Sally Martin

She worked different jobs throughout her life and retired from Sears after 20 years of employment.

Her hobbies included reading romance novels, completing puzzles, listening and dancing to her favorite Mexican music and playing bingo. She loved to tell family stories to anyone who’d listen, and liked to share her recommendations for the best Mexican food restaurants.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Clara Hernandez, sisters Sophie Huguez and Dolores Hernandez, brother Mariano Hernandez Jr., daughter Ruby Vargas, and husband Jack Martin.

She is survived by her brother, Ruben Hernandez, 3 daughters Eva Gomez (David), Vivian Lopez (Alvaro), Polly Martin and her son Jerry Vargas (Alicia), 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 25 from 6-8 pm, Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ, rosary beginning at 7 pm.

Mass: Thursday, January 26 at 10 am, St. James Roman Catholic Parish, 19640 N 35th Ave, Glendale, AZ. Interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, AZ.
