Roy was born in Waterbury, CT on January 18, 1948.
He is a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Army with commendations.
After moving to Arizona he spent 38 years working for Dibble and Associates as a civil inspector and project manager across the state.
He met Carla, his wife of 25 yrs, on the country dance floor. They spent many wonderful adventurous years hiking, skiing and motorcycle riding. One of Roy’s greatest passions was motorcycle riding and he made many memorable trips with his sons, family, and friends throughout the years. He was also a master craftsman, an avid horseman growing up, and loved the outdoors. He made Arizona his. His favorite pastime was planning various trips which included friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Carla; 3 sons Jon Stryker (Rachel), Keith Stryker, Chad Stryker, and 2 daughters Cindy Scolli and Jamie Gavigan (Sean); 4 Brothers and 1 Sister Guy Stryker (Gale), Corey Stryker (Sharon), Jo Rosas (Eddie), Dana Stryker (Kim) and 13 wonderful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Jean Stryker and Sister Joyce Gordon.
Roy was a man of great strength and character with an enormous passion for adventure. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Thursday October 29, 2015 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary 2350 East Greenway Rd. Phoenix AZ 85022 at 3.00pm.
