In High School Ron worked at M&S Meats on 16th street. After High School, Ron went to Trade school to be a carpenter and became one of the best. Building homes in all parts of the Valley including Camelback Mountain, Paradise Valley, Gray Hawk, Fountain Hills and Rio Verde. Ron also helped build cabins in Greer and Circle K's all over the state. It was difficult to drive anywhere in the Phoenix area that he wouldn't say "I built this house or the one down the street." And yes, he did remodeling and was quite a visionary. Ron was truly a master carpenter.
He did Bass fishing with his best fishing buddy Walt for years down in Mexico and Arizona Lakes while enjoying a Coors always over ice in a mason jar, eating bologna sandwiches and jalapenos. He would say those were the best fishing trips. He also did some dove and quail hunting with his wife Bonnie and children Elaine and Michael. It became quite a family ordeal. For a number of years, Ron camped with his family, many friends and their families.
Ron was also handy in the kitchen he had certain dishes he cooked and would clean up but don't ask him to do the silverware, or plastic containers, not his forte. Ron loved spending time with family, playing cards with friends, cruising, and working on crossword puzzles daily. Ron was a great story teller, avid reader, and read the paper daily. He stated that someone once told him that if you read the paper everyday you would always have something to talk about. Ron was a huge history buff with a mind like steel trap remembering many names, places and dates.
A very loving, caring, giving, and patient man will be so very missed by those closest to him.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service that will occur Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, and then a graveside service Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM located at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
