Roger Albert Garceau

Roger Albert Garceau, 84, left this world on February 26, 2022. Roger was born in Swanton Vermont on August 26, 1937 to Ulemas and Leona Garceau, the ninth of 11 children. He is survived by his sister, Teresa Bishop of South Carolina, his daughter Sally Walker (Jonathan) of Texarkana Texas, his sons Darren (Sophia) of Boca Raton Florida and Terry (Tori) of Peoria Arizona. Additionally, he leaves behind three grandchildren, Sara Walker, Gabriel Walker and David Garceau. Roger graduated as the 1956 class Valedictorian at Winooski High School in Winooski Vermont. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed at Governors Island and in Turkey. In 1971 he moved his family from Burlington Vermont to Phoenix Arizona. He was a journeyman electrician for the IBEW 640 before his retirement in 1999. After his retirement, Roger spent countless hours researching his family’s genealogy and was able to discover his lineage back to the 1500s. He was a long time member of the Phoenix Genealogy Society and held the position of Treasurer for a number of years. The family would like to thank Roselyn Cameron for her caregiving, friendship and support during Roger’s final time on Earth, which made his life more comfortable and enjoyable.
