Rodney Leigh Borden was born in Depew, New York on October 9, 1943 to Leon Warren Borden and Jessie Ellen Osgood. Being raised in the upstate New York area, he attended several different elementary schools and high schools. His parents were dairy farmers and Rodney's growing-up years were spent milking cows and working in the field.
At age 18, he moved away from home and started driving a milk truck in a nearby town. At age 21, he joined the Air Force, spent a tour in Tripoli, and was then transferred to Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona in 1967 where he met his future wife and had a daughter and two grandchildren.
The rest of his life was spent in the Phoenix area; his occupations were truck driver and horse training. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior shortly after his marriage and has faithfully followed the Lord Jesus ever since.
He was a tough guy: totalled two 18-wheelers and walked away from both wrecks unscathed. In recent years, he never complained about the physical problems he had; he just kept on keeping on. He went to Glory surrounded by friends and loved ones. See you soon, Rodney!
