Born in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Pauline Szot, Roberta or “Bert”, as many knew her, was described as a beautiful caring person. Her family was everything to her, as she was to her family. Bert was a dedicated mother, raising four rambunctious and tenacious boys. Bert never missed one of her sons’ sporting events. Bert was passionate about her children and family and was always there for them. Bert was a mother figure to many of her son’s friends throughout her son’s high school years. Our family is where it is today due to Bert.
Bert spent more than 3 decades working for the Deer Valley School District #97 and retired from there to only return and work part-time up until about a year ago. Bert had many stories and fond memories about her time working as a school bus driver and dispatch.
Roberta married Francis “Frank” Morris in 1963. They were married for 41 years. until Frank’s death. Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents, Walter & Pauline; her sister, Diane; and her brothers, “Little Bill” and Ralph. She leaves behind four children James, Michael, William, Robert, daughters-in-law, Joleen and Janette, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She leaves behind three sisters, Judy, Paulette, Dorothy, and three brothers Skip, Michael, and Bob.
A celebration of life will be held at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, Bethany Chapel on December 5th at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a small donation to the American Heart Association.
