Born on September 8, 1940, in Miami Globe, Arizona. Robert moved to Gilbert, Arizona at a very young age. He would work the fields with family and attend the Gilbert Public schools and run into occasional mischief. He made the noble decision to leave school early and join the military to assist his mother financially and seek greater opportunities.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. During a weekend leave, he attended a dance where he met Beatrice "Betty" Gonzales, a great love. They wed in 1964 and enjoyed 40 wonderful years together until Betty's passing in 2004. Their marriage was enriched by travel, dance, and quality time with family, creating a strong foundation for their growing family.
A welder by trade, Robert's innovative mind also found success in engineering, fabricating and business pursuits. He was a man of few words, yet his thoughts were profound, leaving those around him with perspective, humor, and appreciation for his wisdom.
Later in life, Robert found companionship and love with his fiancée, Irene Tarin. Together, they embarked on new adventures, adding joy and excitement to his golden years.
Robert's life was a testament to love, compassion, humility and loyalty. He valued his family above all and held his friendships dear. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible mark he left on our hearts. May he rest in peace, joining Betty and embarking on an eternal journey together. His spirit will live on in those who were fortunate to know him, and he will be deeply missed
Robert is survived by his children: Nadene Bailey (husband James), Jason Ybarra (wife Nichole), and Rosanna Ramirez (husband Carlos). His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren—Joseph Medina, Bryanna Zamora, Jason Ybarra Jr., Elena Ybarra, and Sofia Ramirez—and great-grandchildren Cypress Medina, Jionni Zamora, and Josiah Zamora.
