96, of Phoenix, passed away on May 31, 2012 after a valiant fight against cancer. Bob was born in Youngstown, OH on November 1, 1925. During WWII, a t the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy. He served three years abroad the USS Henrico where he participated in the invasion of Omaha Beach on D-Day as well in the Pacific. After the war, Bob moved to Phoenix where he met his wife, Elsie Lois Buchanan. They were married on November 1, 1947, on his 22nd birthday. For over 50 years Bob was a proud member of the Sheetmetal Worker's Union, Local 359, where he served as Apprentice Coordinator from the Sheetmetal Worker's Retirees Club until April, 2012. Bob was President of the Sheetmetal Worker's Retirees Club until April, 2012. Bob is survived by Lois; his wife of 64 years, his brother; Raymond Clifford Walker, 5 children; Robert C. Walker, Barbara Hadley (KP), Cathie Regan (Rick), John Walker, John Walker (Julie), and Susan Snyder (Ross), 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 5-8pm at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix, AZ 85042. A Memorial Service will be held at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central in Phoenix, Arizona 85012, at 11:00am.
