Robert Sidney Stoner

Robert Sidney Stoner passed away in Phoenix, AZ, August 2, 2017 after a long illness. Bob was born November 25, 1933 in Perrysville, Ohio to Harry and Lausena Stoner. He graduated from Perrysville High School and joined the Marines in 1951. He served during the Korean War in Morocco, Africa. Bob married Gloria Placenti in 1963 and moved to Huntington Beach, CA. He was a fireman for 13 years in Costa Mesa. They were the parents of six children. After retiring they moved to Atascadero, CA. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Anthony and Erik, his wife Gloria and second wife Bee, and two brothers Charles and Leonard. Bob is survived by his sons Steven and Timothy, daughters Lausena Mees and Cynthia Stoner, sister, Janet Lavelle, brother, Don Stoner, 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was also a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Luis Obispo, CA. Burial will be at Atascadero Cemetery in Atascadero, CA.
