He was born at his maternal grandparents' home in Fremont, NB. He was raised in the Sacramento, CA area where he completed his education at American River College. He married his high school sweetheart, Bobbette Donnelly, in 1952. Together, they raised Michael Lee, Lawrence Patrick and Kathy Jean in the Sacramento suburb of Fair Oaks.
He served four years in the Naval Reserve, followed immediately by active duty Navy service from January 31, 1955-January 10, 1957 as an Electronics Technician 3R.
He was a ground radar Electronics Technician and Equipment Specialist for the US Air Force at McClellan Air Force Base, in a civilian capacity, from August 1950 until his retirement in May 1987.
He married his beloved Millie Hall Lujan in 1982 and they shared many wonderful adventures. They visited every state, Canada, and Mexico, and enjoyed many trips with their large, loving, blended family. They retired to Florence, AZ in 1987.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Clifford Paul Sanderson, and his mother, June Blossom Howery Sanderson. He leaves his wife Millie, sons Michael (Dale), Larry (Sylvia), daughter Kathy, step son Kenneth Watkins (Denise), step daughter Angie Dahms (David ), brother Paul (Ladene), eight grand children, seventeen great-grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew.
He requested that there be no services. Cremation and additional services are provided by Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services.
