and Daniel Marshall. He grew up in Ogden with his 2 siblings, and was
active in the LDS church. He served an honorable mission in Brazil from
1954 to 1957. In 1958, he met his eternal sweetheart Joan Seegmiller,
and the two of them were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 2nd.
Robert Marshall began his music teaching career in Idaho in the late
1950's. In 1963 he relocated to Phoenix Arizona to teach at band at West
High School. He taught at that school and others in the Phoenix Union
High School district for over 25 years. He became not just a proficient
band director, but also taught orchestras and choirs as well. He taught
private music lessons during the entirety of his adult life.
Robert Marshall delighted in his family. He and his wife made sure that
his 4 daughters and 2 sons had a knowledge of the gospel and a love of
music. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and playing baseball in
his early years, and watching baseball whenever he got the chance. He was
passionate about genealogy and temple service and spent much of his
retirement years in those pursuits. He is survived by his wife, Joan and
his six children. He has 20 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests that donations be sent to the LDS Humanitarian fund.
The funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel at 17817 South
McQueen Road in Chandler AZ at 10:00am. There will be a viewing at
9:00am. The graveside dedication will occur at 2:00pm at Phoenix
Memorial Park and Mortuary 200 W. Beardsley Rd in Phoenix.
