Robert Kent Healey, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, Firefighter/Engineer for the City of Phoenix, and friend was called home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in a tragic accident. Robert, or Bob, as he was known by most, was 55 years young. Born on October 9, 1962 in Phoenix, Arizona, he graduated from Sunnyslope High School, then followed his quest to fulfill his dream of becoming a Firefighter for the City of Phoenix. His dream became a reality in 1987, later achieving the rank of Engineer, a position that he was passionate about and honored to hold. He was well known throughout many of the city’s fire stations for his wonderful cooking skills and a quick witted, dry, and sarcastic personality. He medically retired from Phoenix Fire after more than 25 years of faithful service. Bob truly enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, riding his Can-Am, playing video games, and smoking cigars. Robert was the 5th child and only son of Robert & Shirley Fullerton Healey, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, MaryPat Healey, as well as his children, Jacob Healey, Sarah Alfieri (Micah), and Rebecca Essig (Bryan). Bob had seven grandchildren: Robert, Jude, Keaghan, Celia, Tiberius, Drax, and Oliver. He is also survived by four older sisters, Mechele Grenfell (Nick), Cindy Price (Richard), Vickie Hoffman (Jeff), and Cheri Hobbs, one aunt, Gay Healey Ramella (Dan), one uncle, Russ Fullerton, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Our hearts are broken with the loss of such a vibrant spirit in our lives; he is already deeply missed by his wife, children, family, and friends. Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. Services will be held today, January 27, 2018, at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery - Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren Street, Phoenix. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:30, with a service from 10:30-12:15, and graveside services from 12:15-1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the 100 Club of Arizona via www.100clubArizona.org or to Phoenix Fire Department Charities via www.phxffcharities.org
