Rich was one of the first  guys I met when I moved to Arizona  and we had an instant connection.  We could talk for ever. Some stories back to high school days ( and I'm sure some were true as we remembered).  He'd like that  because he had a great since of humor. Especially his one liners. One thing he never talked about was his service in Vietnam. But we usually exchanged messages on Veterans Day.  He was a true Patriot. We golfed together countless times. Let's say he was working on being average. But he did have a hole in one.   I'll miss staying with him and Judy on my visits every year and sharing a Coors Light.   Sorry not being able to share today with all his friends and family ( he bragged about those grandkids ).   My brother shares these feelings. No longer able to pass their large $ 1 wager between them

There are no words that can express our feelings for Richie and how much he'll be missed.  The memories of the times we've shared with Richie & Judy over decades of friendship will always be cherished.  A game of golf or happy hour was never boring, only continuous laughter and silliness filled the room.  Each time we got together no matter the length of time since the previous gathering, we always picked up where we left off.  We've been blessed with a great group of friends that includes Richie & Judy, and that friendship never ends and the memories will always be happy ones to remember at times of sadness such as this.  We will always love and remember Richie and cherish the unconditional and continuing friendship that does not end with this chapter.  Until the next chapter when we are together again we will feel his presence everyday.  We feel honored that Richie shared his time and heart with us, men like Richie are rare and a part of our hearts leaves with him, but a part of his he leaves behind to fill the void.  Rest Dear Friend until we meet again.  We are always here for Judy and will continue the love, friendship and fun times in your honor!!!

Denise I’m so very sorry for your loss.   Though I did not know your wonderful father, by what I see and read I can tell he was a wonderful man and very well loved.   I know one thing for sure he raised a beautiful and loving daughter.   You are surrounded with many loving friends so please let us know if we can do anything for you and your family. Where do I start...? Rich had an infectious personality. He was so kind, humble and had such a lovable personality. He has always been supportive to me, he was always encouraging to whatever I had going on in my life and always had good advice to give. He (and Judy) became people I have and will always admire. A long love the two of them shared, and the way Rich looked at Judy and loved her so much was so beautiful to witness. I am so thankful I got to know this sweet, humble and one of a kind man, with such a beautiful spirit. My heart goes out to Judy and the family. I hope you can find comfort and peace during this time of heartache and loss. God bless you all and may you Rest In Peace, Rich.

We feel very blessed to have become a special part of the Schulz family lives and are saddened by this sudden loss of such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Rich, I will miss sitting in the football and volleyball stands with you answering all my silly questions about ref calls, scoring and strategic coach decisions.   You will be missed!!
