Richard graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in accounting and led a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. Richard received his pilots license and enjoyed flying his plane in his spare time. Upon retirement Richard moved to Arizona, where he served for six years on the Board of Directors for the Ahwatukee Recreation Center as their treasurer.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret Helen Bye; and his beloved sister Joanne Beasley.
Richard is survived by his step-sons Mark Pomeroy and Edward Pomeroy; grandson Jordan Pomeroy and wife Amanda; sister-in-law's Barbara Nagy and Jolan Benzies and their children Daniel, Stacey, Stephen, Danielle, Kirsten, and Victoria.
Richard was a very kind and loving man who will be missed by everyone he touched in his lifetime. Richard was a quiet and unassuming man who did not need to talk much but, when he did, he could make everyone laugh. Richard maintained his relationships from childhood to the present with integrity and loyalty.
A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held at the Ahwatukee Recreation Center, affectionately referred to as the ARC on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
