The Great Spirit has called upon one of his warriors to join him in the great plains of the promised land. Ramon Rangel Ramirez, (63-year-old), had ridden to the great land on Saturday morning, June 12, 2021. He has proceeded in his spiritual life with our mother, Josefina "Josie" Chavarria Ramirez who has also passed on to her spiritual life on July 27, 1999.
Ramon was born in Mesa, Arizona, and was a native resident in Tempe, Arizona. He lived with his father for many years until his sickness took over his body in March of 2012.
Ramon stayed true to his Native American roots. His mother was a full-blooded Mescalero, Apache from the San Carlos Indian Reservation, and moved to Tempe as a child with her father and mother, Pablo and Rita Chavarria as well as her many siblings.
Ramon enjoyed attending rodeos and pow-wows throughout the State of Arizona. He served many years in law enforcement especially as a Park Ranger with the Maricopa County Parks Sevices. He enjoyed the late-night drives to Payson with his former spouse, Marta Ramirez if just to have an ice tea. Ramon also enjoyed playing the role of 'Ray Ray the Clown' just to make children of all ages laugh. During Christmas, he also dressed as Santa Clause and gave gifts to his many nieces and nephews which brought joy to their lives.
Ramon did have his trials and tribulations in his later years of life but was forgiven by the Great Spirit and his family.
Ramon is survived by his father, Arnoldo R. Ramirez, (Tempe), older sister Deborah Jean Rivera, (Phoenix), older brother, Ralph Ramirez, (Queen Creek), younger brother, Rolando Ramirez, (Phoenix), and youngest brother, Rosendo Ramirez, (Casa Grande).
The "Welcome Home" ceremony will be given to Ramon in the near future upon the arrival home of our brother's ashes.
