Ralph Cannon was born on November 27th of 1946, in Lehigh, Oklahoma to Lizzy Peevy and Amos Cannon. He was the youngest of three children, him being the only son along with two sisters Shirley Stephenson and Marva June Monroe.
Ralph had one son Ralph L. Cannon Jr who preceded him in death. Also, his mother Lizzy Peevy and sister Marva June Monroe.
At the age 16 Ralph and his family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. He attended South Mountain High School where he played basketball and football. Ralph loved music and really enjoyed singing. As a teenager he and a few of his friends formed a group called "The Funky Four"
Ralph had many interests and was an avid sports fan. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching his Westerns with Gunsmoke being his all time favorite. Ralph was a big man with a big appetite. His love of food developed his passion for cooking. His favorite thing was barbequing on the grill. Although he had several signature dishes he made the best Spaghetti, Fried Fish, Thanksgiving Ham and his sister Shirley's favorite, Chicken and Noodles.
Ralph was a dedicated man and gave 32yrs of loyal service to SRP before retiring. He had a special relationship with his nephew Roosevelt Stephenson of which he spoke daily.
On February 27th of 2009 he joined in Holy Matrimony with Virginia Grubbs. He spent the remainder of his life with her and peacefully surrendered to his Saviour in their loving home.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife Virginia Grubbs Cannon and his sister Shirley Stephenson. He also leaves his special nephew Roosevelt Stephenson and stepson Edgar Hunter II (Stephanie Moore). A host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.
