Paul G. Jacobs, 88, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Paul was born in September of 1927 in South Bend, Indiana and resided there until he moved to Scottsdale in 1991.
Paul leaves behind his loving wife, Felicia (Phyllis Zurat), of 64 years and 3 children, Cheryl Vieth (Gary), Michael Jacobs (Susan), and Brian Jacobs (Annette) and 10 grandchildren Amber (Vieth) Brosius, Allison (Vieth) McMeans, Kristen Vieth, Lindsey Vieth, Ashley (Jacobs) Pigg, Ty Jacobs, Nicole Jacobs, Alexa Jacobs, Anthony Vesely, and Anna (Vesely) Lykins. Paul was preceded in death by his 5 siblings Dora, Andy, Edna, Margaret, and Virginia (Gigi) and his parents Glen and Stella (Grabarz) Jacobs.
Paul graduated from Washington Clay High School and was a star on the basketball team. More than anything he loved supporting his sons and grandchildren in their athletic careers and especially loved Notre Dame football. He was instrumental in starting the Southeast Little League organization in South Bend. He was always health conscious and walked 2 miles a day and kept his mind sharp with Sudoku and crossword puzzles.
Paul was a faithful Catholic and was a weekly usher at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church of Scottsdale.
A celebration of life will occur on March 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Shadow Mountain Mortuary at 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ. followed by a luncheon and burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Paul may be donated to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
