Paul R. Bullock, the son of the late Ida Mayo and Henry Bullock was born on February 17, 1929 in Enfield, NC. On May 13, 2015, he responded to the call of the Master and took flight to his eternal home. After leaving Enfield, NC in 1940 he migrated to Portchester, NY for a short period of time, then moved to Peekskill, NY where he was gainfully employed by Fisher Body Motors in Tarrytown, NY. He was self-employed as a truck driver, construction worker and a semi pro boxer. While a resident of Peekskill, NY he used his God-given talent to help lay the foundation to the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ in Peekskill, NY. Whenever the opportunity represented itself Paul enjoyed camping with the family, traveling and bowling. On July 4, 1965, he married the former Irene Reynolds-Smythe. This union was blessed to raise ten children. In 1980 they relocated to Phoenix, AZ and after settling down in 1981 they united with the First Penecostal Church under the pastorate of the late Bishop A. C. Eddings. Paul loved the Lord and loved to testify as to what his God could do. He served as a handyman for the church and once was a member of the choir. He faithfully attended and supported his church until his health prevented him from doing so. Paul and Irene proudly raised 34 foster children. They loved, supported, sacrificed and cared for each child with joyful and prayerful affection. The State of AZ rewarded them for their dedication. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Smythe; four brothers: Harvey, Raymond, Morris and Estee Bullock: four sisters, Lillie DeCosta, Ester Beaman, Doris Harvey and Margaret Vaughan. Paul leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Irene Bullock; four sons, Waymon (Wanda) Smythe of Glendale, AZ, Paul (Mia) Bullock, Jr. of San Jacinto, CA, David Smythe, Terry (Florence) Smythe of Phoenix, AZ, and Windell (Kathy) Smythe of Peekskill, NY; four daughters: Mary Rainey of Peekskill, NY, Barbara Warren of Phoenix, AZ, Evelyn (Harry) Pelham of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Linda (Hayes) Winston of Peekskill, NY. He also leaves 39 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren. Two brothers: Floyd Bullock of Riverside, CA and Steve Bullock of Cleveland, OH. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
