Patsy was born on December 20, 1933 in Queens, NY, predeceased by her father, Leslie B. Short, her mother Elsie F. Short, and her first husband, Charles W. Gedney. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Frederick P. West, her son, Timothy C. Gedney, her daughters, Christine R. Gedney and Anne P. Gedney, her sister, Leslie R. Parreco and her brother, Donald T. Short. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason Rogers, Erik Gedney, Shannon Gedney and Kimbery Hanks, as well as seven great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, had the consummate "green thumb" and her garden was the envy of the neighborhood. She was an excellent amature photographer, and entered her photos in several local art shows over the years. She took up running in her 40's and ran several 10k's as well as the 13.1 mile Bay to Breakers run in San Francisco. She was a huge dog lover and often had as many as 6 dogs staying with her while her neighbors traveled. She loved the ocean, which was her "happy place", and had a house on Rehoboth Bay in Delaware for many years. She loved nothing more than sipping her morning coffee on her deck, gazing out at the calm morning water. She was passionate in everything she did, and she was well loved. She will be missed terribly.
