I still think about you daily. 6 years later and it's still so difficult to process all this. You are so missed and I will never forget you. I love you Mom.

Hi, this is andreW  burger, the brother of patricia. Im sorry to hear of the loss and passing of my sister. Growing up with my little  sister, we have fun in playing together. I remember my sister when we were living in england on a christmas night, she was there to listen and understand my sadness when i thought that my brother robert had my christmas gift. I extend my condolence to her husband and children. My quote for you is look up in the sky, there you will see me . I am here watching you, comforting and give you strength. I received some comfort recently from a dream I had of your mom/significant other. She looked great and lives on in a different dimension. Long before that dream-I remembered a shared impromptu b/d party with she, Uncle Andrew and I, cookie cutter ham and cheese sandwiches, 3 legged races with any neighbor child who walked by our British home on Mill View Close. I carry a "touchstone" of a tulip to remind me of our mutual love of nature's scenery, a quirky rose bush in England that only bloomed when we went on vacation (twice) ha!, Show Low and the AZ's Mogollion Rim. I have fond memories of you all when you surprised me with a yard/home makeover upon Madison and my return from Las Vegas-nothing comes close to that experience-even though you had to wade through pigeons! If you just want to reminise or talk about your futures-I'll attempt to reach you next week. I really enjoyed witnessing the Marcha dance-you look like you had so much fun. Wishing you love. This message is especially for YOU, Carson, as I just read your entry declaring how you think of your Mom daily...  I should think you would because, well, she's your MOM & always shall be; if you remember, she is my cousin on my mother's side & I'll always remember her as extremely generous & loving and giving. MY Mother was her Godmom, and she thought the absolute world of your mother. Carson, I'll share a secret. MY Father passed away this very night 13 long years ago. It gets easier. I remember driving once & I just started crying & cried & then cried some more. But Carson, his memory lives inside me & sometimes we still talk. And I know we'll be reunited some glorious day. Tonight, this very night, in less than 2 hours your time, there is to be a fabulous meteor shower --more than 100 shooting stars per hour!! :-) My husband says one will be my Dad saying hello :-)  Perhaps you'll find peace about your Mom as well. I hope so :-) I also believe, Carson, that to live our lives the BEST way possible and to let God's Light shine through us to others is a literal tribute to them & their years of sacrifice on our behalfs. Dear Frank, Jayson, Alyson, Madison and Carson, I just heard about Patty's passing and wanted to offer my deepest condolences. She and I met when I was 15 and I loved her like a sister. I know she loved her family.  I wish you all peace and blessings and you grieve. Patty was a beautiful person on the inside and out.

I miss you so much. You are the best mom in the whole world. I love you.

Okay, 4th try's a charm? The 'net ate my offerings amidst my 17-yo's running commentary, yet by the grace of God I shall persevere, as we all must. Isaiah 57:1-2 states, "The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." And so it is with beautiful, most precious Patricia, my cousin. The picture on this site reminds me so much of her mother, my Aunt Doreen... & yet my 9-yo quipped, "She looks like YOU, mommy!" Yes, life goes on & this is why I write... Jayson, Alyson, Madison, Carson & Ben: meet your cousins, MY most beloved children: Levi, Liberty & Shannon Trinity Rose. It is my hope that we may soon go on a family reunion camping trip together at Yosemite or Zion parks or a place of your choosing to become better acquainted; life is good and as our church promotes, we are to have LIFE TO THE FULL!  Nothing can ever, ever, ever take the place of your pretty, sweet and loving Mom. She shall be missed by MANY. But I'll let you in on a secret. MY mother went to be with the LORD 3 years ago, yet I continue to carry her inside of me: her vitality is now mine & all that I AM I owe to my parents, including my love of the LORD. Your Aunt Faith has more pictures & information about us. I met you 2 oldest sitting in a stroller in Concord, CA. Your Mom also let me sleep on your couch when I came through town in my rainbow VW Bug and she shall ALWAYS be remembered as an extremely kind, loving, and giving person: may God give her deep rest until you all meet again in the Promised Land! :-) Much, much Love, Your California cousins XOX

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

I loved Patty or as my kids knew her " aunt Patty". I loved her absolute beauty inside and out. I admired her strong character and her fierce love for her children. The world was brighter with Patti in it...but heaven rejoices to have her. Alyson and Jayson, love you guys and am truly truly sorry for your loss!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

  Our friendship developed when we worked together at Boswell Hospital. You were so much fun to work with and such a caring nurse to your patients. Your friendship meant so much to me. You were so kind, generous and loyal.  I saw your life blossom with your marriage to Frank and then with the births of Madison and Carson. You earned your masters and became a nursing instructor. I was so proud of you. 
  I know you loved all your children so much. You would tell me so all the time. Your memory will live on through them forever. 
  Frank, Jayson, Alyson, Madison, Carson and Ben, you are all in my prayers at this difficult time. 
  Pat, my friend I will miss you everyday.

 Our girls, Madison and Lauryn brought us together! Then we would see each other occasionally at Del Webb Hospital and update each other on our girls!! You will always be remembered!! To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! ~Rest in Paradise!

Patricia believed in me and my future as a nurse. Her encouragement and words of wisdom hold a special place in my heart that I will treasure forever.

Patricia you are my inspiration, role model, and mentor. I remember when you spend about 3 hours teaching me dimensional analysis. I told you I was stubborn you said "I am too". You did not give up until I learned dimensional analysis. I'm blessed to have met you and have you as my instructor. You will always be in my heart. Love you.

Forever in our hearts, and Loved Forever. You are missed Patricia.

I am blessed to have met you and it was an honor to have you as an instructor. I will miss your smiling face. You always had a way of making nursing topics and skills seem so easy. I remember you helping a group of us understand dimensional analysis on your lunch break. Your wonderful story of Angie and Al or how you taught us look for key words in an NCLEX questions(I.e never, always) are just a few things that you shared with us. I'm confident in saying, you made a positive impact on the lives of so many. You will truly be missed.

It was easy to see your passion for teaching in how you were able to make some difficult and easily confusing nursing concepts much simpler.  I am grateful to have had you for an instructor and will remember you every time I insert an IV and make a little mess or have to read ABG's and will laugh if I ever come across a married couple named Angi and Al!  You will be missed.

I had the pleasure of having Patricia as my clinical instructor last semester. She loved to teach and had such a wonderful gift of teaching. I can hear her in the back of my mind now as I study and I know I always will. Patricia touched so many of us aspiring nurses. She helped me with my resume this summer and wrote me a letter of recommendation. She wanted us all to be successful and poured out all of her knowledge into each clinical session. I will forever be grateful for Patricia and her love of nursing. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Patricia will be greatly missed.

You were an amazing instructor and person. I will always remember the way you made concepts seem so simple. You will always be remembered by so many. May you rest in peace.

You were a wonderful person, and you will be missed. There will always be a spot in my heart for you!
