Olive Bernice Merckle of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on September 13, 2024 at the age of 92. Olive was born on May 17, 1932 in Olive Hill, Kentucky where she grew up. She worked several years in a shirt factory and as a caregiver in her home. Olive was actively involved in sewing, gardening and home remodeling.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Gee and Linnie Johnson Gee; her husband Richard Merckle; six brothers Emmit E. Gee, Johnie Louie Gee, John Gee, Franklin Gee, Denver Gee and Russell Gee; two sisters Melissa Gee Aiken and Eula Gee Stevens; one son Glenn Carrick; one granddaughter Jennifer Marie Rodgers; and a special brother-in-law Buell (Bucky) Stevens.
Olive is survived by her three daughters Wanda (Ken) Evanitcka of Denver Colorado, Karen(Ron) Liberty of Phoenix Arizona, and Renee Albers of Peoria Arizona; her four grandkids Christopher Fuller of Phoenix Arizona, Jeffrey Fuller of the Philippines, Chevi (Michael) Gladu of Missouri, and Kyle (Megan Pacheco) Snell of Massachusetts; her eight great grandkids Jennifer Fuller, Jayden Fuller Sophia Fuller, Jax Fuller, Judy Gladu, Sophia Snell, Maddison Snell and Jordyn Snell; one brother George (Carol) Gee of Murray City Ohio; one sister Connie (Phillip) Gee Lefevbre of Olive Hill Kentucky; two sister-in-laws Odderine Clark Gee of Lakeland Florida and Sharon Puckett Gee of Haldeman Kentucky; as well as dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews
The family would like to thank Honor Health and Hospice of the Valley for the care and compassion they showed Olive in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation and Service at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary 200 W. Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85027 on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00pm.
