Nancy was born February 6th, 1947, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She graduated from Williamsville High School in Williamsville, New York. She went on to college at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh. At the age of 20 she began a 40-year career in her dream job as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Nancy had quite a career, from being named “First Lady” on the 747 to being hijacked to Cuba, to earning several “Professional Flight Attendant’s” awards. Nancy was always the life of the party. She enjoyed a good glass of wine or a strong martini. She could be feisty and rough around the edges at times, but she had a big heart and loved her family and friends. While she had no children of her own, she truly loved her niece and nephew and always made a point to be at most of their special occasions such as birthdays and graduations. She loved animals and regularly donated to many rescue charities.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dan Hare and her parents Richard and Janice Wrobel. She is survived by her brother John Wrobel and sister-in-law Marivic Wrobel, as well as her nephew Ryan Wrobel and niece Kendall Elam.
Nancy’s final resting place is at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her favorite bar, Butch McGuire’s, 20 West Division Street, Chicago, Illinois on October 21st at 3:00 p.m.
