Mike Martin

Mike “Polar Bear” Martin joined our Lord in heaven on Saturday, June 16, 2023 at 9:20am. The Martin family are multigenerational natives of Phoenix, Arizona. Mike attended both Camelback High School and Phoenix Community college before embarking on a 26 year career as a Phoenix Firefighter including 5 years as an acting Captain. He is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Cathy, and his older twin brother, David. Mike will be interned next to his parents David and Dorothy Martin.

Mike demonstrated his Christian faith through sacrificial love whether at work, as a hockey defenseman or the community at large and was beloved by all who knew him. He was quick to render assistance to anyone in need, was generous with his time and resources. He is already greatly missed.

Mike will be honored with a fireman’s line of duty memorial on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10:00 at The Greenwood Mortuary, Serenity Chapel, located at 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009
