My condolences to the Eckels family for the loss of Michael.  May his spirit and finest memories live within his family and loving friends.

Micki...my heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to you and your family, as well as my thanks for the honor of being a pall bearer at Mike's services. Mike was a great friend and he will be truly missed. As retirees, we were both looking forward to spending time together on and off the golf course. It is difficult to realize that the outings we hoped for can no longer happen, but I know Mike is in heaven now, having the greatest outing of all. Dee and I will keep in touch. I was so shocked and sorry to hear of Mike's passing. The McLean's and Eckels' go way back in Simi Valley and especially Mike and I. We had lots of good times growing up. He was a great guy and I know he will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Micki - I am very sad that Mike is no longer with us. He was such an incredible person to know as I grew up and as you both were such essential and wonderful friends to our family. I will keep you in my prayers for healing as you get through this time, but he is in good company above and you are surrounded by people who love you here. 
Mike will surely be missed by so many.

Today's service was moving in its simplicity and tradition.  The choice of psalms and music brought me back to my religious roots.  When I first learned of Michael's passing I, like so many others, conjured an image of Michael smiling and laughing.  In the afternoon, after the service, I read the Dash--twice.  I think if I were the stonemason carving Michael's headstone I would turn the edges of that dash upward into a grin reflecting the joy he enjoyed and brought to so many.

Mike will be missed, I really enjoyed his time with our golf group on the course.

We were all saddened to hear about Mike.  We really missed him after he retired.  He was a joy to work with and you could tell he really cared about his fellow co-workers.  It's hard for us to believe his retirement was cut so short.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.   Mike will truly be missed.

Michael loved life; he loved his wife and family; he loved people.  His ability to easily befriend anyone was inspiring... his simple enjoyments of an ocean wave, a walk on the beach, a good meal, planting a flower, and enjoying relationships were infectious.  When anyone was with Michael, they too enjoyed life.  All who knew Michael will experience the loss of a very special person.  I know we are thankful for and will cherish our many memories together. Grandma, I'm so sorry for your loss. Grandpa was such a amazing man. I remember all the golf trips we had. Grandpa was my biggest fan and I am dedicating my golf career to him grandma. grandpa was such a great man he put so many smiles on anybody that walked through that door! Micki and family: Thank you for the wonderful photos of Michael that were posted.  I saw a man that loved life and reminded us all to love one another. I will miss him so much.

Mom- remember mike for all the good times, the many trips to the beach cottages. The many many stories that started with " i once knew a guy". 26 years ago i met this guy who wanted to marry you and i had to be the big bad son and protect you from anybody who wanted to come into our lives.Mom, i could not of asked for anyone better to take care of you. It was comforting to know as i left to start my own life, that you had found hapiness and i knew you and mike would spend the rest of your lives together in total happiness.
