IN THE CARE OF
Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary
Michael “Mike” J. Prescott was a caring brother, son, uncle and friend. Surrounded by family, he was called to his celestial reward unexpectedly due to a heart attack on Monday, February 7th. Michael was born on July 29th, 1955, in Pueblo, Colorado to Byron and Joann (Ward) Prescott. Michael’s family moved to many different locations during his childhood, ultimately landing in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Michael graduated from Coronado High School in 1973.
Michael was a true outdoorsman, and enjoyed many good times camping, fishing and hiking in California, Colorado and Arizona. His signature achievement was climbing Mt. Elbert, the highest summit of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Michael had a passion for riding and repairing motorcycles. He also loved to cook, and enjoyed crafting his own recipes to be enjoyed by friends and family. Michael was a commercial painter by trade, and took great pride in his work, making sure that every job was completed to perfection.
Michael will be greatly missed every day by his brother Patrick Prescott and sister-in-law Kathy Prescott, sisters Meg Prescott and Carole Hackworth, nephew Jeremy Prescott, Aunt Jane Starritt, nieces Dawn Thurber and Amy Miller, great-nieces Megan, Kaelie, Emma, and great-nephew Griffin, as well as many good friends.
When you think of Michael, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Joann Prescott, grandparents Ray and Dorothy Ward, and Louise and Boyd Prescott.
No services are planned. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be announced at a later time. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Arizona Humane Society. .
