Mary Angeline Opitz

Mary was born to Joseph and Mary Kaiser on January 23, 1919 in St Paul Minnesota.

She graduated from St. Agnes Catholic high school, and worked for the Bell Phone Company until she retired. She married Carl William Opitz in 1947, Mary is survived by four of her five children; Christine Moritz of Orlando, Steve Opitz of Phoenix, Rob Opitz of Phoenix and John Opitz of Prescott. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her son Carl Opitz in 2017 and by her loving husband in April 2018.

Mary was a master of improvisation. Married to an Air Force officer she endured the constant relocations of the military. She gave birth to 5 children in 5 different States over 7 years. No matter where she ended up, she made it home for her family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 11am at Saint Francis Xavier Church in the St. Ignatius Chapel. The burial will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 1:30pm.
